Job Description: VP of Business Development
The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for driving growth and revenue through strategic partnerships, new business development, and sales leadership in large-scale industrial, data center, and healthcare sectors. This executive role requires a blend of strategic thinking, industry expertise, and exceptional relationship-building skills.Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Execution
- Develop and implement long-term growth strategies for large-scale projects in industrial, data center, and healthcare sectors.
- Identify new market opportunities and potential partnerships in these high-value sectors.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform business decisions.
Business Development and Sales
- Set and achieve revenue targets for large-scale projects.
- Oversee the business development process by acquiring and defining project opportunities.
- Prepare, develop, and deliver high-quality proposals and presentations for potential clients.
- Participate in the estimating and budgeting process for competitive proposals.
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders in industrial, data center, and healthcare sectors.
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences.
- Negotiate and close high-value deals for large-scale projects.
Project Oversight
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure smooth transition from pre-construction to execution phase.
- Provide leadership on financial and profitability aspects of new projects.
- Establish profit margins with the Director of Preconstruction and Project Manager.
Team Leadership
- Lead and manage the business development team, setting goals and providing mentorship.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop company-wide strategies and objectives.
- Foster a culture of innovation and open communication within the team
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in business development roles, with at least 5 years in leadership positions focused on large-scale industrial, data center, or healthcare projects.
- Track Record: Proven track record of closing contracts in the $50-500 million range for large-scale projects.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of construction procedures, trade practices, building codes, and project scheduling specific to industrial, data center, and healthcare sectors.
- Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills; proficiency in financial planning, resource management, and data analysis; experience in strategic planning and execution for large-scale capital projects.
